Description

Dipropylene glycol, also known as Dipropylene Glycol, dipropylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, 4-oxaheptane-2.6-diol, 1.1. - oxydi-2-propanol, 2-hydroxypropyl ether, 2.2. - dihydroxydipropyl ether, referred to as DPG. Dipropylene glycol is a odorless, colorless, sweet, water-soluble and hygroscopic liquid at room temperature. Soluble in water and toluene, miscible in methanol and ether, with spicy sweetness and non corrosiveness. It has little irritation to the skin and low toxicity. Flammable in case of open fire and high heat. It can form explosive mixture with air. It is suitable for flavors, fragrances and cosmetics.

Application

1. Dipropylene glycol is the most ideal solvent for many flavors and fragrances and cosmetic varieties. This raw  material has good water, oil and hydroCarbon co solubility, slight smell, little skin irritation and low toxicity. Isomers are evenly distributed and of excellent quality;

2. Dipropylene glycol can also be used as coupling agent and moisturizer in a variety of different cosmetic applications. In the field of perfume, the proportion of two propylene glycol is over 50%. In other application fields, the proportion of dipropylene glycol is generally less than 10% (weight). Some specific products include: hair curl, skin cleansing fluid (cold cream, shower gel, liquid soap and skin care) deodorant, face, hand and body skin care products, moisturizing skin care products and lipstick, etc.

3. Dipropylene glycol is also used in the production of unsaturated resin and saturated resin. The resin produced by dipropylene glycol has superior softness, crack resistance and weather resistance. The product has long-term yellowing resistance.

4. Used as cellulose acetate; Nitrocellulose; Shellac varnish; Castor oil solvent. It can also be used to make plasticizer, fumigant, synthetic detergent, etc.
