Description

Oxalic acidis a colorless, crystalline, and toxic organic acid with the formula H2C2O4. It is found in many plants, including spinach, rhubarb, and cocoa beans, and is used in various Industrial Applications, such as in the production of dyes, bleaches, and cleaning agents. Oxalic acid is also used as a chelating agent to remove rust and mineral deposits from metals, and as a reducing agent in some chemical reactions.
