Petroleumether

Description

Petroleum Ether is a light petroleum product with a boiling range of 30 ~ 150 ℃, which is mainly composed of Pentane and Hexane. The collected temperature range is generally about 30 ℃, and generally has boiling range specifications of 30 ~ 60 ℃, 60 ~ 90 ℃, 90 ~ 120 ℃. Although the name has “Ether”, it is a mixture containing many hydroCarbons, which is different from ethers containing oxygen.

Application

1. Solvent: Petroleum ether can be used as a general Organic Solvent and is often used in chemical laboratories to dissolve non-polar or low-polar compounds. It can quickly dissolve many organic substances and is convenient for use in chemical reactions, extractions, etc.

2. Cleaning agent: Petroleum ether is often used to clean industrial products such as paints, resins, inks and glues, and has a good cleaning effect.

3. Catalyst: Petroleum ether can be used as a solvent for certain chemical catalytic reactions, such as most oxidation reactions and some esterification reactions.

4. Fuel: Petroleum ether has high volatility and is sometimes used as a Fuel Additive to improve combustion performance.
